DRY ICE, CRYOGENIC SANDBLASTING, AND DRY GUN
A&G has invested many resources in a new technology: cryosandblasting.
Today we are the leader in both Italy and Europe in creating machines and providing service.
In this section you can find videos and photos of the primary applications. A&G holds European and International patents for the exclusive application in various sectors. For over 20 years, A&G has been producing cryosandblasting units for industrial use. Today a new micro-cryosandblasting unit is also available, which allows this technology to be used in the medical and electronics industries. The quality of the service and efficiency of the Dry Gun units has allowed A&G to earn clients such as major industrial, international, world leading companies in the food and other sectors, where sanitising and cleaning are absolutely essential.

WHAT IS CRYOGENIC SANDBLASTING
It is the first, completely ecological industrial cleaning system. Cryosandblasting only uses compressed air and dry ice (carbon dioxide in solid form), which are non-polluting and natural substances. In fact, this technology allows the removal of soiling from surfaces without using chemical products, water, or abrasives, thus making it possible to clean without producing scraps or waste of any type due to detergents. Cryogenic sandblasting is an innovative system for maintaining and cleaning industrial plants, and much more. It is non-abrasive, does not ruin pipes, electrical parts, pneumatic systems, etc., thus allowing parts to be cleaned without removing them first, saving time and improving productivity.
HOW IT WORKS
Cryogenic sandblasting works thanks to thermal exchange (thermal shock) and completely without water. In fact, dry ice at -78°C is used, which is mixed with compressed air and transported through a special pipe, resistant to low temperatures. It then hits the surface to be cleaned, hitting the dirt with the dry ice. The dirt then cools, and the thermal shock makes the cooled dirt lose its adhesiveness, so it can be removed with the help of the compressed air.

FIELDS OF APPLICATION
It can be used wherever there is organic soiling and where cleaning with water or detergents can be unsuitable or create pollution, as well as waste to be disposed of. This innovative system is widely used in the food, chemical, graphics, and nautical industries as well as in aluminium foundries for cleaning moulds and for cleaning monuments, removing dirt and smog without abrading.

ADVANTAGES
By not using water, detergents, abrasives, or solvents, and thus not leaving residues, cryosandblasting in industries allows operating on the machine without removing the pieces to be cleaned, such as moulds or mechanical parts, significantly decreasing cleaning times and improving productivity and quality.
To summarize, the advantages of cryosandblasting are:
- solvent-free
- no water or humidity
- abrasive-free
- dust-free
- no products to dispose of (except for the removed dirt)
- low environmental impact
- compliant with FDA / BGA international standards
EQUIPMENT
The machines available from A&G are the DRY GUN 01, DRY GUN 02, and DRY GUN 03
They are accessorized with various types of nozzles to meet all the customer’s needs. A&G also makes various sizes of dry ice – 1.7 mm, 2.2 mm, 3 mm, and 4.5 mm – available to its customers.
